Auto Parts Fast Features High Quality Parts to Improve Your Honda's Fuel Mileage

We can't deny it; we all need cars for us to live life normally everyday. Even if we have to go back to the basics to cut high costs of living, we cant really do without cars. They have become necessities in life through the years. However, some vehicles are harder to maintain and consumes more fuel; thus for some, they are pain in the neck—and the pocket—rather than helpful driving machines. But don't worry, there are many ways to improve gas mileage; though you may have to replace some of your stock auto parts.

Auto Parts Fast, one of the country's top auto parts dealers features the best quality replacement and aftermarket parts, which can help you solve gas mileage problems. If you are particularly looking for Honda parts, you can find here a comprehensive line of premium quality Honda engine parts, Honda cooling system parts, Honda body parts and Honda performance parts that can enhance not only your fuel economy but can also help you reduce harmful emissions and significantly improve performance.

The first thing you can do to improve fuel economy is to check on your engine. Make sure your engine is receiving enough air for the combustion and for its cooling. If it is not able to breathe in more air, replace filter or use bigger throttle body and premium quality performance intake manifold. Likewise, check on the way your engine exhales through the exhaust system. You should use a high-flow muffler to boost the car's performance as well as to improve fuel mileage.

Like other exhaust system parts of your Honda, the Honda Catalytic Converter improves performance and fuel mileage too as it converts gaseous wastes produced after the combustion into less harmful emissions. A clogged cat prevents exhaust gases from flowing smoothly out of the engine; thus, it won't be able to clean them properly. This in effect would require the engine to work harder thus, more fuel is consumed. If you're starting to smell something like rotten eggs, you already need to replace your Honda catalytic converter.

If you are in need of Honda catalytic converters, you can shop at Auto Parts Fast, your most trusted online dealer of millions of top quality auto parts. You can find here high-flow catalytic converters for Honda Accord sedan, Honda Accord coupe, Honda Civic, Honda CR-V and other Honda models for just about half the original price.

Improving the aerodynamics of your car can also help you reduce fuel consumption. Race cars are usually fitted with spoilers and ground effects to improve aerodynamics and thus, its acceleration and fuel economy. You can also add a Honda spoiler on your car to help reduce wind resistance; however, this is more effective when applied to race cars. However, you can also replace your Honda Rims, Honda Mirrors, and other body panels with lighter auto parts. Aside from giving your car a new look, swapping hoods and other body parts can help your vehicle run more smoothly and faster. A Honda hood with rear-facing scoop would be a good alternative, too.

Another way to improve gas mileage is by replacing your worn out Honda Wheels and tires. The tires may be particularly running low and thus they need to be aired up sufficiently. Lastly, make sure your engine is cooled properly so it can work more efficiently. You can replace Honda Radiators or add auxiliary Honda radiator fan for more efficient cooling of the engine. These are also available at Auto Parts Fast.

Other auto parts offered in this store are bumpers, A/C condensers, grille, mirror, lights, windshield, suspension parts and a whole lot more. Aside from Honda parts, the store offers top of the line Toyota Parts, Nissan Parts, BMW Parts, Chevrolet Parts, GMC Parts, VW Parts, Jeep Parts and a lot more. Fast, complete and secure, this auto parts store is the perfect solution to your fuel mileage problems.

18 Simple Ways To Save Money On Your Car

The upkeep of your vehicle can be quite an expense - from initial purchase to insurance to maintenance. And sometimes we get the sinking feeling that every time we need a car repair, we’re going to get taken for a ride. (pardon the pun!) Actually there are some ways to make sure you don’t get a raw deal when dealing with a local body shop.

After you get recommendations for honest mechanics, call around to check out the prices for certain jobs. It’s always smart to get a second opinion.

How about some preventative medicine? Keep your gas tank filled. This will help you avoid the gas line freezing up in cold weather. Also, driving on “fumes” allows little pieces of dirt at the bottom of your gas tank to run through the fuel lines with the last drops of gas. This debris clogs up the fuel filter and can cause carburetor damage as well.

Sometimes a problem with your car’s electrical system results from a simple blown fuse. Check to see if you have any blown fuses before investing in a tow truck!

Keep track of how much oil your car uses. A sudden change in oil consumption means you need to see a technician.

Save your brakes by having your brake fluid changed every 30,000 miles.

Check your tire pressure once a month. This simple maintenance check can add up savings at the gas pump!

Stop and go traffic causes excess wear and tear on your vehicle. Go ahead and give your car a nice twenty minute ride at 55 mph on the highway every couple weeks if you “major” in short trips.

There are other ways to save money on car expenses. Let’s look at the insurance payments.

If you’ve budgeted for possible out-of-pocket expenses in case of a car accident, you might want to consider increasing your insurance deductible to $500. This will lower the cost of your insurance.

Talk to your insurance agent. If your car is as old as the hills, you might want to drop collision coverage to save money.

Car insurance companies offer a variety of discounts. Ask your agent if the company offers reductions for driver training courses, anti-lock brakes, car alarms, air bags, mature drivers, good students or maintaining a good driving record.

Before you purchase from a dealer, ask about the dealer's return policy, get it in writing and read it carefully. Dealers are not required by law to give used car buyers a three-day right to cancel.

Visit http://www.fueleconomy.gov to find cars that are fuel efficient.

Each 5 mph you drive over 60 mph is like paying an additional $0.10 per gallon for gas.

In most cases, using cruise control on the highway will save gas.

Replacing a clogged air filter can improve your car's gas mileage by as much as 10 percent. This isn’t going to cost you an arm or leg either.

Do your homework when buying a car from an auction. Many vehicles that have been damaged by floods and hurricanes are going on the market. These won’t last long – leaving you with a flood of bills. Be a little concerned if the carpet looks too new, and check carefully for signs of rust.

Carfax.com shares info on inspecting a used car to make sure you get the best deal.

If you use your car for business, keep track of miles traveled so that you can use this for a tax deduction. Get more info at irs.gov.

When you consider all the ways you can save money on your current vehicle, you might be persuaded to put away the extra each month for a new car down the road!

What to do when a hot engine is hard to start

Although usually engines exposed to cold weather is the most known problem related to car starting difficulties, hot engines might bring obstacles as well. Many people realize that the car do not start as easily as it should when the engine is hot and do not know what to do about it. In order to be able to overcome this problem, it is important to start by learning why it happens.

Most of the reasons by which a hot engine would be hard to start are based on problems related to the fuel. When the engine is too hot, fuel can't circulate properly due to the way in which vapor obstructs it and therefore the engine wouldn't start as easily as it should or it wouldn't start at all.

A car engine would keep on gaining temperature until a while after it was shut off. During this period of time is when the highest amount of vapor would be circulating around and therefore that is when the chances it obstructs the engine are bigger as well. This way, if you are driving in hot weather and you have just turned off the car in which you experience start problems, you should wait for a few minutes until starting it back.

Fuel injected engines do not experience this problem as much as others do due to the fact that the fuel remains inside the injectors by being under a very high pressure. This way, fuel injected engines would not become so easily obtruded by vapors as other engines would and therefore the car would not have the same problems to start as another would.

Also, engines might become hard to start while being hot if it coincides with the season in which refiners change from a fuel blend to another. Sometimes gasoline refiners change from a higher volatility fuel to a lower one when summer approaches due to the way in which hot weather causes fuel to evaporate easier. If refiners change back to a higher volatility fuel while the engine is still exposed to days of high temperatures, this could cause the fuel to evaporate too much creating too much vapor and therefore obtruding the engine.
