Driving Instructor v Test Examiner

To get into a car along side a complete novice who has no knowledge whatsoever of handling a vehicle, let alone handle other drivers on our busy roads takes some guts. (Instructor)
Knowing how to drive is simple? Knowing the high way code is even more simple, what isn't so simple is not knowing what the other driver is going to do.

The roads would be much safer if we were mind readers but unfortunately no glass ball to check out what lies ahead. The more lessons the more in take of rules and regulations.

Instructors who EARN to drive

Over a period of time the driving instructor that was once a stranger is now your friendly passenger who wants you to excel in your need to get a pass...
Helping you to build up confidence in your self will be one of his main priorities.

Your friendly passenger has now become your companion, who throughout all your lessons has got to know you personally and corrected any bad habits you may have picked up while learning to drive

The magic moment has arrived to put in for your test. How do you know when the time is right? Simple, when the stalling or buck jumping of the car is all in the past, no more silly questions like where the clutch is. No more accidental kerb mounting.
If any one should know you are ready to take that god fearing test, it has to be the stranger your friend your companion. (You're Instructor)

He was the one who had the guts to get in beside you ignoring the dangers that lay ahead. He was with you throughout the teething stages, pampering you like a mother would with her child.

The driving instructor makes the final decision that you are ready to take to the highways. Education goes no further because your instructor has taught you all there is to know. If this stranger your friend your companion your instructor had any doubts he would not allow you to put yourself and that of other motorists in danger.

The Test

Why so many fail. The answer is nerves

They send in an official type looking geezer with a clipboard. Another stranger, only this one is never to become you're your friend your companion. He is out to pass judgment before the key is turned in the ignition

You may guarantee if some one is waiting for you to make a mistake then the inevitable happens.

This geezer's decision also undermines the driving instructor's better judgment. Driving instructors do the dirty work but when it comes to dishing out the filth, leave that to the examiners

(Earn to drive) Become a driving Instructor in your spare time. It does have its benefits and rewards.

Driver Education - Auto Insurance Tips

From the beginning, starting with your first contact with whatever is connected to driving and cars, you must have heard of the utmost important aspect:the car insurance. To a certain extent the driver education must deal with this aspect which is vital for the driver and the car in itself.

There are many companies specialized in this field but you should know that there are many of them which make certain advantageous offers such as discounts for the good grades As and Bs, yet, for that you need to qualify;you should get in touch with your insurance company for it.Some discounts are given also for the application for some driver programs, these being quite advantageous too.

In addition, if you can make a choice, replace the new teen driver or family driver on the oldest and least expensive automobile. This can and will save you the rates. Whenever thinking about buying a new or second-hand car, make sure you get in touch with your insurance company to see if the rate will suit you and your finances. It is likely for you, without checking with the insurance company, to think over a car which is too expensive for you or just not suitable. As general piece of information, you should know that sports cars or other high-cost cars are due to have higher rates, thus disabling you to pay in time. It is also important to know what you buy. If you want to buy a car, it is utmost necessary to know what that car can do. These technical aspects can be revealed to you by means of a driver education course or just specialized magazines, provided you already bear the basic information.

Another aspect is the one related to the crash safety rating, because a percentage is given to every car according to this issue. You should always know how safe is the car you are driving, how well it can protect you. As well as the other aspects, you can learn this from the driver education course. In the unfortunate case of an accident, you should be aware of the average cost to repair it, in the case of the one-side insurance. If you want to replace your insurance check the rates of a greater number of companies because they vary from one company to another.

Furthermore, every driver education course introduces the idea of the necessity to keep a camera with you in case an accident may occur;you could register the damage of all cars and the real placement. There are cases when the actual victim is found responsible for the simple fact that there are a lot of ideas and beliefs which alter the truth of an accident. A camera may come in hand if you get involved in a minor accident;you may want to get your car fixed without reporting it to the company. For a teenager, even a minor accident may lead to an increase in the rates, or maybe even more.

Defensive Driving Classes and Courses Online

With the advent of the Internet, it’s no longer necessary to take a defensive driving course at a local school or even in the car. A variety of defensive driving courses are offered online, allowing you to learn safe driving techniques from the comfort of your own home.

Private enterprise has taken over defensive driving courses to offer a variety of defensive driving online courses in accordance with state standards. Defensive driving school no longer has to be the boring lecture in a small cramped classroom by a listless traffic officer.

Defensive driving online is among the most popular means of obtaining the knowledge, as the companies who offer it focus on providing good customer service in order to quickly deliver the completion documents. The number of courses for a consumer to choose from is plentiful, with prices to reflect the buyers’ market. Participants tend to prefer the defensive driving online course, as it easily fits in to their own schedule and it can be done in the privacy of their own home.

Defensive driving is defined as being able to operate a motor vehicle with the skills to avoid an accident in a situation where one could possibly occur. Defensive driving is based on the premise that you are actually a very good and safe driver that must be alert and able to react to the dangerous driving that others may engage in.

Defensive driving courses online teach advanced skills and awareness not initially taught in drivers’ education courses. The goal of defensive driving courses online is to train individuals to be a proactive driver in order to avoid dangerous road situations or the poor conduct of other drivers.

Anybody can take defensive driving courses to brush up on skills or to qualify for car insurance discounts. Most often individuals are referred to defensive driving courses after being ticketed for a moving violation or having been in an accident. Depending upon the laws of the municipality, the documented completion of a defensive driving course can allow for a dismissal of the ticket. Individuals can often opt for taking a defensive driving course as it can keep unwanted points from showing up on a driving record. Individuals with tickets also experience higher insurance rates, so a nominal fee for completing a defensive driving course online is an easy choice to keep rates down.

5 Reasons to Take a Defensive Driving Course

If you or someone you know and love drive or ride in a car, then you know the importance of being able to drive defensively. Defensive driving courses are so important for so many different reasons. Driving defensively allows you to appropriately react to a multitude of situations in time to save the lives of everyone around you. Taking a course in defensive driving will help you to become a safer driver.

1- When considering taking a defensive driving course, it is important to research the options that are available to you. The most common type is the still the traditional, classroom type course. However, with today's technology classes are becoming popular both as online and correspondence courses.

2- One of the most popular reasons to take this type of course should be to improve your driving skills, to increase your chances of not being involved in an accident. Reality, however, proves that the most common reason to participate in a defensive driving course is that it is court ordered. Many times the court will require a driver take a driving course in place of fines or jail time for a driving infraction.

3- Another reason to take a course of this nature is to reduce auto insurance rates. Most insurance companies offer a discount for taking and completing a driving course. The amount of the discount varies among insurance companies, but will be between 2-10% on average. Call your personal auto insurance agent for the amount you could save.

4- The length of time required will vary upon the type of course you choose to participate in. The traditional, classroom type classes run much the same way as a normal school. These will normally run a couple of hours for two or three weeks or they will be in session for on or two all day sessions. Online and correspondence courses are usually the type of course where you work at your own pace.

5- Cost may also be a concern when choosing which type of course to take. A traditional course is generally more expensive then the other types that are available. However, they do have the distinct advantage of a teacher and classmates to ask questions to and receive answers from. If cost is a prohibitive factor in joining a classroom course, then a correspondence or online course could be the answer. These courses are usually less expensive and have the advantage of being able to complete the work at your own pace.

Replacement Parts for the Mercedes Benz S Class Hybrid Sedan

The combination of electric drive with the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission ensures that the S-Class "Hybrid" constantly operates at the optimum level. "This reduces fuel consumption by 15 to 25 percent depending on the driving cycle, while at the same time enhancing comfort," says Prof. Herbert Kohler, Head of the Vehicle Body and Drive Systems Directorate at DaimlerChrysler AG.

Combining a V8 diesel engine with the latest generation of hybrid drive systems developed jointly by DaimlerChrysler and General Motors, Mercedes Benz introduces the S Class Hybrid, which unlike many conventional hybrids, the system dispenses with a torque converter; this is replaced by the hybrid-specific components. The hybrid concept is based on the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission in combination with the P1/2 hybrid transmission, which thanks to its compact dimensions does not restrict interior space.

"The use of the 7G-Tronic automatic transmission makes for a comfort level that is unique in the world of hybrids," emphasized Weber. "Shifting is even faster and more convenient in continuously variable mode." Setting a new record for cars with hybrid drive system, the S Class has a maximum output of 340 horsepower. The two electric motors have a combined output of 70 horsepower. The diesel can be started at any time without transition, independently of driving mode. The V8 diesel engine recharges the battery while the vehicle is in motion while energy is recovered during braking.

The RULE that SAVES!

We are governed by rules. These rules make everything in order. They put every piece of the puzzle on the right place. If we dare violate the same, we are subject to its irate consequences.

Rules are everywhere. They exist even in streets. In fact, a number of them must be practiced by heart so as not to cause injury or damage to others and to oneself as well.

To refresh our fallible mind with the rules of the road, here is the list of the essential rules:

1. Follow traffic rules. Bully riders are oblivion of their duties to follow these rules. They brag, they show off and so they are more often than not, a habitual hospital detainee.

2. Be cautious of huge vehicles and the driving styles of their drivers. Dump trucks, tractors, buses and the rest of the humongous vehicles can not stop at an instant. So better keep a safe distance between any vehicles especially the huge ones. It is hard to take chances and take over a truck at a stop light.

3. Remember that the left lane is for passing. If you intend to pass, do it safe and fast. In connection to this rule, some of the states have laws that do not allow driving in the left lane so that it can be exclusively used for passing.

4. Apply turn signals. A lot of riders are not using these signals when they are making a turn or move. As a result of being not informed speed and control of the other driver is rough that it leads to some bumps and mishaps.

5. If someone is trying to join and mess with you in the high way and you have a room, you can opt to move to the left lane. By this you can avoid a viable accident.

6. Part of being safe on the road is to wear protective motorcycle apparel. These gears guard you against pricks, injuries, fall, limps and fatal wounds. Having them in your body gives you a chance to continue seeing and living the world!

Aside from the foregoing rules, there is a rule that outshines the rest. This can be your life-saver. This can be your saving grace! The rule is: In a place where people are driving on the right lane, avoid entering intersections without another vehicle on the right lane. It is safe entering intersections this way. This may seem tame but this way is safer.

Why Won't My Car Start?

Have you ever had your car just "die" on you, you try to start it and it just will not start. You end up calling a tow truck and paying those big tow bills, then to make matters worse the technician at the shop tells you that it will cost hundreds of dollars to make it run again,is that true? Maybe maybe not.

I own and work as a diagnostics Tech here at Ace Automotive in Lakewood Wa and I can tell you from experience if some people knew just a little more about their cars workings they could save a whole lotta money. Say for instance you are driving at night wipers and heater ,lights and radio on you notice that the headlights keep getting dimmer and dimmer soon the vehicle "dies" and now won't start the most likely cause is the alternator has failed, not the battery because if the battery failed the alternator would still keep power to the vehicle until you turned it off then it would not restart.

You are driving for a while and the car just "shuts off" all the instrument lights come on but when you try to start it it just turns over but will not start. First it depends what kind of car this happend to if it was an import like say Honda, acura, toyota, subaru, nissan, mitubishi, the engine timing belt may have broken (if it's been more that 60,000 miles since you changed it last time) you should be able to tell if when you try to start the engine it sounds different like its just "freewheeling" faster than normal, this is bad cause most of the import cars mentioned will do expensive damage to the engine when the timing belt breaks.

If your vehicle is a domestic one chevy ford ect, be patient wait a little bit maybe 30-45 min and try to start it if it starts hurray! But it will "die" again once it's hot enough again, be sure to tell your local tech this valuable information and ask for all parts they replace to repair your vehicle to let them know you know something about the car too.

Troubleshooting Your Ford's Alternator and Other Electrical Parts

What's the most important part in your car? You would probably answer it's the engine. The engine, of course, is very essential since combustion takes place here. It is often referred to as the "heart" of the vehicle. However, other systems and auto parts might begin to protest. Certainly, every part in the vehicle has a role to perform; therefore, any of the auto parts cannot be disregarded. Among the auto parts that play equally important role with the engine parts are the electrical parts.

Electrical parts take charge of your car's power supply. It produces, stores and distributes electricity to all parts in the car that needs it - especially the engine. Basically, your car cannot operate without electricity. In order for the engine to produce power for the wheels, the burned fuel and air mixture must be ignited. The spark plug needs electricity in order to fire the compressed air-fuel mixture and create a powerful expansion of the vapor.

A problem on your electrical system, such as a faulty alternator or battery, could render your car useless; thus, you must be cautious if anything abnormal happens to your Ford's electrical system. The battery wears out the fastest and so it needs to be checked every now and then. Likewise, check on your alternator. This part is the source of electricity in your car; thus, when damaged, nothing will supply power to the battery and the rest of the vehicle.

What are the indications of a faulty alternator? First and foremost, if your car won't start at all and all you hear is a click, your alternator might be in bad condition. The battery has not been charged properly so it doesn't have sufficient amount of power for the engine to start.

However, even if your engine still starts, you cannot be confident enough that nothing is wrong with your Ford car's alternator. Check your headlights when idling, if the light gets weaker and weaker, check for loose connections in the alternator. Likewise, check the alternator belt. If it is not tight enough, the alternator won't be able to charge properly. Furthermore, look if there is a formation of rust as this will affect the charging ability of your Ford Alternator.

If your alternator is damaged severely, better start thinking about replacing your old Ford alternator. Remember that the battery supplies power to some car parts only when the alternator is not in use or if the engine is not yet running. If the engine is on, the alternator is the "star" of the electrical system; so a faulty alternator would eventually wear out the battery since it shall take charge of providing for the car's electrical needs.

Replacing your alternator might be the sole solution to your problem. Don't worry because OEM-quality aftermarket and replacement parts for American vehicles such as Ford Parts are easy to find nowadays, even Ford parts used. You can visit Ford Parts Online one of the country's leading auto parts suppliers. High quality Ford alternators are offered here in this store. Clean Car for Good Gas Mileag

In addition to all the practical ways, such as not speeding, keeping proper tire pressure and combining several trips into one there are many more ways you can increase gas mileage by simply taking good care of your vehicle.

Keep the engine well tuned and in good running order.

Make sure the spark plugs are in good shape.

Be sure the valves are adjusted properly.

Keep the carburetor clean. A dirty carburetor can cause a car to use 5 to 9 percent more gas than a clean one.

Maintain a clean catalytic converter.

Keep air filters clean. Clogged air filters lower fuel consumption as much as 10%.

Faulty oxygen sensors lower fuel consumption by as much as 40 percent.

Make sure the automatic choke is working properly.

Change the oil regularly as recommended by your cars manual.

Remove snow tires as soon as possible in the spring and replace them with radial tires to gain a 4 percent gas efficiency.

Remove roof and ski racks if not using them regularly. The wind drag caused by these additions reduce fuel efficiency by 5 percent.

Remove unnecessary items from the car and trunk. For every 100 pounds the car eats up 0.5 percent more gas.

For pickup owners remove the tailgate or put it down if not using it. Or replace it with the net-type of gate or use a bed cover. Tailgates cause a drag effect reducing gas mileage by as much as 15 percent.

When driving in muddy conditions clean the car often. Mud under the bumpers and wheel wells add on unnecessary weight.

And lastly, one popular myth today is to pour acetone, or nail polish remover which is mostly acetone, into the gas tank. In tests performed on the gas lines, the thickness of the fuel line went from 3/8 to 1/32 in just 3 days. Acetone, if spilled, will also eat the paint and finish on your vehicle.
